It is very important that you look over this information in order to properly care for your tattoos in the weeks while it is healing.
If you have Second Skin
I may have placed a thin plastic bandage over your tattoo while it heals. Please refer to the following in order to take care of it:
★ Please keep the Second Skin on for at least 2 - 3 days after your tattoo. ★ To remove it, run the bandage under warm, soapy water and gently peel it downwards. ★ Once
General Rules
★ Do not go to the pool, beach, or any public bodies of water. Keep in mind that your tattoo is an open wound and prone to infection.
★ Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight.
★ Please give at least 24 - 48 hours before going to the gym or doing any intensive labor. While healing, clean your tattoo as soon as you are done working out.
★ Do not use any lotion with fragrance in it or oil to moisturize it. Stick to simple moisturizers such as Cetaphil, Lubriderm, CeraVe, or Aquaphor.
★ Do not scratch or pick at your tattoo while it is healing. This can break the skin and introduce new bacteria which can lead to infection. This may also ruin the quality of the tattoo.
- If your tattoo has a second skin covering on it, please leave the covering on for 2 - 3 days. This is to protect your tattoo from any outside bacteria and to keep the plasma, blood, and ink trapped within to speed up the healing process. On the final day, please remove it gently by peeling it downwards under warm, soapy water and holding your skin taught. If you did not get second skin on your tattoo, disregard this and move to the next step. - Clean your tattoo gently with antibacterial soap and water. Pat dry with a paper towel, and then apply a light layer of an unscented lotion. You will repeat this twice a day for about 2 weeks. If you did not get second skin, wait until the next day to apply lotion. - If your skin becomes itchy and red while you are wearing the second skin or the second skin comes off early, gently remove it and take care of your tattoo as usual.
